TL/DR version: lost my car key on one final Superman ride at SFGA. So yeah, that was the perfect ending to that horrible story.Īnd that is when I bought a pair of shorts with a ZIPPER POCKET!!! Probably cause $100,000 in damage to the sorting machine :| they tried to mail my chunky car key inside a plain white envelope, and it probably got stuck in an automatic sorting machine at the post office and fell out. Awesome!!Ģ days later, I received a torn, empty envelope from Six Flags Great America. I gave them my address and they popped it in the mail the same day. About a week later, I got an email saying they found it!!! They could send it back to me!! Wow, sure, that would be great!! I emailed a photo of my "extra" key for reference. So I had given my email to customer service, in case they eventually found the key. So we have the locksmith-in-a-van guy make a custom key, I puked my guts out in the parking lot, then I pay him $300 cash for his services, and finally we make our way back home (about 1.5 hrs away. Then we wait until the line is cleared and the ride stops operating for the night. So we waited (I'm still feeling miserable) until the park is closed. Once the ride stops operating, they send people to look for lost / dropped stuff in the roller coaster fields. So we checked with customer service / lost & found and gave them the description. Oh wait, it's in the other pocket.? Uhhhhhh where is my car key? WhErE iS mY cAr KeY?!?!?!? As we disembarked and were ready to make a bee line for the parking lot, I instinctively checked my pocket for the car key. got stuck dangling horizontally at the end for way too long. faster than a speeding bullet, leaping tall buildings, etc. But I wanted one more ride (foreshadowing.) We waited in line for an hour+ to do Superman one last time.įinally got on, rode it. Made it to the end of the day, and we were planning to head home. But this was our one day at the park, and I wanted to push through and not ruin it for both of us! Really bad headache that got worse with each ride. Unfortunately, I was feeling a little sick that day. We both love coasters and ride everything as much as possible all day. My wife and I took off work during the week to go to SFGA for the day. I have a roller coaster lost & found story!! Not from Cedar Point, but this happened at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL.
